Truck Driver 3D puts you at the wheel of trucks and other large vehicles. In this quirky simulator, you have various missions to complete to advance in the game.
Driving heavy machinery
In Truck Driver 3D, you'll show that you have what it takes to drive heavy machinery. You'll take your turn on trucks, bulldozers, tankers, tow trucks, and more. The game features 10 levels, each with 4 scenarios.
At the beginning of each level, you'll be given a mission to complete. For example, you may be sent to pick up illegally parked cars, load them onto your tow truck and transport them to a specified location. Or, maybe you'll be called to a construction site to transport giant boulders with your bulldozer and load them onto a truck.
Whatever your mission, time is of the essence in Truck Driver 3D, or you risk running out of fuel and losing the game.
Very intuitive controls
Truck Driver 3D lets you choose between two types of controls to guide your vehicle: virtual buttons or an accelerometer, whose sensitivity is calibrated according to your needs. On first try, the accelerometer seems like the more interesting choice.
Decent graphics, but not flawless
Truck Driver 3D's graphics aren't bad, but we did noticed a few bugs. The scenarios are expansive but not detailed enough for our tastes. The animations could be improved and the accidents seem unrealistic.
The physics of the vehicles and trajectories are well executed in Truck Driver 3D. There are two views available, one inside and one outside the passenger compartment. There's also a zoom feature that lets you narrow or widen the game view. The sound effects are nothing to write home about.
Ideal for fans of original-style simulators
Despite some technical defects, Truck Driver 3D is an interesting game. The heavy vehicle modeling is reproduced well and the variety of missions provides good replay value. If you love driving alternative simulators, Truck Driver 3D fits the bill.
